The City Council unanimously voted in favor of two resolutions that authorize the Irvine Boulevard and Newport Avenue Intersection Enhancement Project. The project consists of improvements to the intersection of Irvine Boulevard and Newport Avenue from west of Holt Avenue to east of Elizabeth Way along Irvine Boulevard, and from Wass Street to 1st Street along Newport Avenue. The improvements include widening for an additional lane in each direction and additional right- and left-turn lanes.
