That Gridiron Glow
The glow from the stadium lights is unmistakable. It can be seen while driving down nearly any freeway in Orange County, traditionally on any Friday night in the fall. It signals that high school football is being played on a 100-yard-long grass field against a backdrop of proud parents, grandparents, youngsters, blaring bands, spirited cheerleaders and silly-looking mascots. The night air is filled with the taste of victory and loss, with teenage heroes and sometimes even royalty. The stadium lights illuminate the spirit of a community, on and off the field.
