Foothill’s Champion Runs for 527 Yards

Skyler Champion rushed for 527 yards in 21 carries and scored five touchdowns to help Santa Ana Foothill defeat Orange, 46-12, in a Century League game Thursday at El Modena High in Orange.
Champion’s single-game rushing total is the second highest in Southern Section history, behind 619 by Ronney Jenkins of Oxnard Hueneme in 1995.
Champion, the son of former San Diego Padre second baseman Mike Champion, had 681 yards rushing before Thursday’s game.
