SPORT: Football
SEASON AT A GLANCE: On a Cleveland team full of speedsters, Bethea is the most dangerous. The tailback has 1,806 yards in 190 carries, and has scored 29 touchdowns and three two-point conversions for 180 points. Bethea has rushed for 100 yards or more in all but one game, helping Cleveland to a 7-3 record.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Bethea had 282 yards and three touchdowns in 30 carries as Cleveland stunned Taft, 28-26, to earn a share of the West Valley League championship. Bethea scored on runs of three, four and 13 yards. A good student with a qualifying SAT score, he finished the weekend by taking a recruiting trip to California.

Brooke Borisoff
SCHOOL: Agoura
YEAR: Junior
SPORT: Tennis
SEASON AT A GLANCE: A part-time player for the Chargers, Borisoff played primarily in Marmonte League matches until the last two weeks, showing she is geared up for the postseason. She is 39-0 in dual-match sets and 47-0 in all matches, including the league tournament, and is ranked No. 2 in the girls’ 16 division in Southern California by the U.S. Tennis Assn.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Borisoff won the league’s singles title for the third consecutive season, this time beating Annie Tran of Royal, 6-0, 6-0, in the final. The victory qualified Borisoff, for the Southern Section individual tournament. Borisoff swept in a regular-season finale against Calabasas, and blanked six opponents, 6-0, to help Agoura win playoff matches over Charter Oak and Cerritos Gahr to advance to the section Division III quarterfinals.
