Irvine’s Stetson in Good Condition After Surgery for Lung Problem

UC Irvine forward Adam Stetson was in good condition after minor surgery on a partially collapsed lung Thursday.

Following practice, Stetson complained of chest pains and was taken to Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Okla., where the Anteaters are preparing to play in the Sooner Holiday Classic.

“He sat down after practice and was having difficulty breathing,” Irvine Coach Pat Douglass said. “He had said his rib cage was bothering him.”

Stetson, a 6-foot-7 senior, is expected to be out at least two weeks. He was the Anteaters’ third leading scorer last season, averaging 10 points. He was slowed by a torn tendon in his left foot this season and played only eight minutes in Irvine’s season opener.
