HOLLYWOOD — Police are looking for a man who may have witnessed the shooting death of a taxi driver in Hollywood late Tuesday.
Neighbors told police there was a man in a car stopped behind the cab when the shooting took place. The cabdriver, Jose Reyes Benitez, 26, was shot in an apparent robbery about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, said Det. Lloyd Parry. Benitez was found in the 5800 block of Camerford Avenue.
Residents said the potential witness is in his 30s, with wavy hair and glasses, Parry said. The witness was seen driving a dark medium-size or large car, he said. Any witnesses were urged to call homicide detectives in the LAPD Hollywood Division at (213) 485-6410.
A suspect, 33-year-old Michael Parker of Hollywood, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and murder Wednesday. Police are looking for two more suspects.
