COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Musa Kicks Irvine Valley to Victory

C.J. Musa had goals in the 35th and 38th minutes to lead Irvine Valley to a 6-0 victory over San Bernardino in nonconference men’s soccer Friday.

Aaron Williams had the assists on Musa’s goals and scored in the 77th minute for the Lasers (3-2-1).

Gerald Morel made three saves and David Latham two in Irvine Valley’s second shutout of the season. San Bernardino is 0-3.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Canyons 2, Irvine Valley 0--Emma Barker scored in the 23rd minute on a free kick and Nicki Melillo scored in the 63rd minute for visiting Canyons (5-0). Ashli Alotis had six saves for Irvine Valley (1-3).

In nonconference women’s volleyball:

Citrus 3, Saddleback 1--The Gauchos took a 5-0 lead in the third game, but Citrus (1-0) battled back for an 8-15, 15-6, 17-15, 15-13 victory. Jennifer Sims had nine kills and Suzanne Sarkees 27 assists for visiting Saddleback (0-1). Kristina Rabenkamp had 12 kills for Citrus.

Irvine Valley 3, Imperial Valley 0--Shannon Llamas had nine kills and Krista Rees had six digs to lead Irvine Valley to a 15-1, 15-3, 15-12 victory to open the season.
