Michael Washington of Paraclete, a junior all-purpose back, was released from Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center early Saturday after suffering a moderate concussion in the Spirits’ 38-11 loss to St. Bonaventure on Friday night.
Washington, Southern Section Division XII co-offensive player of the year last season, suffered the injury midway through the fourth quarter when he was knocked into a team bench at the end of a kickoff return.
“They did a CAT scan on him and everything checked out all right,” his mother Kathy said. “But he’s probably going to miss a few games. He’s scheduled to see a neurologist on Monday.”
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Washington rushed for 637 yards, had 20 receptions and scored 16 touchdowns last year to help Paraclete win the Division XII title.
