Crespi has dropped its junior varsity for the first time because it doesn’t have enough players after promoting 21 sophomores to the varsity, Athletic Director Richard Fong said.
Transfers and a shortage of seniors out for football created the problem. Fong said the junior varsity should return next season.
The Celts have more than 50 players on the freshman team, which won its opener, 40-0.
