FINDING HAPPINESS: The Rev. Bonnie Roswell will present a sermon on “The ABCs of Happiness” at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Glendale Church of Religious Science, 2146 E. Chevy Chase Drive. HONORING THE MEMORY: The 45th annual Kever Avot service, in which Jews honor the memory of loved ones, will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Hollywood Hills. The open-air service will feature a program of cantorial and choral music and prayer. Mount Sinai will also be collecting food to distribute to the Jewish community centers of greater Los Angeles, so participants are encouraged to donate nonperishable items. YOM KIPPUR: Yom Kippur services marking the Jewish New Year will be celebrated Monday at 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Kol Tikvah Temple, 20400 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills. Temple Aliyah will host a childhood education Yom Kippur service from noon to 12:45 p.m. and from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. at its temple, 6025 Valley Circle Blvd., West Hills. Both services are free. 12-STEP STUDY: The Alcohol Drug Action Program of Jewish Family Service and Congregation Or Ami of Calabasas will host a Yom Kippur study session for Jews in a 12-step recovery program, as well as their families and significant others, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Warner Center Hilton Hotel, 6360 Canoga Ave., Woodland Hills. RETREAT GROUPS: Holy Spirit Retreat Center will offer two groups: Women at the Well, a gathering for women of all faiths to deepen their spirituality and offer mutual support, and a one-day program, “Awakening to God’s Love.” Women at the Well will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday. The cost is $6. Registration is required. “Awakening to God’s Love” will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and will feature the teachings of medieval mystic, author and musician Hildegard of Bingen. THURSDAY CONCERT: The Ilyas Malayev Ensemble will make a presentation featuring the music and dance of Central Asia, and the Jews of Bukhara, Uzbekistan, at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N.
