Solectron Corp., the No. 1 contract maker of electronics, said it is cutting more than half the jobs at a cell phone plant in Georgia as it moves production to Guadalajara, Mexico, to lower labor costs. The company will cut 475 full-time jobs and 375 temporary positions at the Suwanee plant. Milpitas, Calif.-based Solectron said it will provide separation benefits and help fired workers find jobs. Some workers may be offered positions at other Solectron plants. Solectron shares fell $2.88, or 7%, to close at $38.13 on the New York Stock Exchange.
