Spoken Word Artists to Perform at Benefit

The nationwide Spitfire Tour of spoken word artists will hold a benefit at the House of Blues on May 7 to raise funds for Todd McCormick, a cancer patient who was sentenced to a five-year prison term on marijuana charges; he has claimed he was growing the marijuana for medical purposes.
“Politically Incorrect” host Bill Maher, former Nirvana band member Krist Novoselic, Exene Cervenka of X and Michael Franti of Spearhead are among those scheduled to take part. Additional performers are still to be announced.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are $20; attendees must be 21 or over.
