Parking-Limits Decision Delayed
The City Council this week delayed deciding whether to limit commercial vehicle parking in residential areas. About a dozen residents spoke on the matter during Monday’s council meeting, mostly in favor of the proposal. However, officials wanted to hold off on a decision to allow time for further study on the matter.
The proposed plan would prohibit commercial vehicle parking in neighborhoods unless the owner lives on the block and holds a permit from the city. The plan would apply to any truck that is larger than 8 feet wide, 7 feet high and 21 feet long.
City officials will consider the matter again during the Dec. 18 council meeting.
