Jeanette Manley; Retired Secretary

Jeanette I. Manley, a retired secretary, died Tuesday in Santa Paula at the age of 82.
Manley was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Albion, Mich., where she grew up and went to school.
It was there that she met and later married Alfred Manley.
She worked as a secretary in the medical field and for an engineering company.
After retiring, she and her husband moved to Waterloo, Iowa. While living there she sang in a church choir and enjoyed listening to music and playing songs on the organ. She also liked to play cards and bingo.
She moved to Santa Paula after the death of her husband in February.
She is survived by two sons, Terry L. Manley of Pittsfield, Vt., and Barry Manley of El Paso, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Ventura with the Rev. Dan Stevens officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ventura County Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, 400 Mobil Ave., Camarillo, CA 93010.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
