Newbury Park’s girls are trying to survive the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions.
The Panthers (5-4) likely will have only eight healthy players when they meet Southern Section power Chino Hills Ayala today in a consolation game.
Their four tallest players, 5-10 Lauren Burnett (sprained right ankle), 6-0 Ashley Adams (flu), 5-11 Cassandra Harris (sprained left ankle) and 5-11 Sally Bailey (sprained left ankle) are not expected to play today and are questionable for next week’s Ayala tournament.
