The City Council voted recently to allow 30 advertising signs to be mounted on the city’s nonemergency vehicles, a move that could bring $15,000 to $18,000 annually to the city.
The vote Tuesday allows the city to enter into advertising agreements with local and small businesses. The contracting would be handled by Signs of Support Inc., which will pay Placentia 50% of all the monthly gross revenues generated. At a base rate of $100 per month, and an estimated 30 vehicles, the city would earn about $1,500 per month.
