Ice Dogs Roll Past Blades, 5-1

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Goalie Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 28 shots and helped the Long Beach Ice Dogs to a 5-1 victory over the Kansas City Blades in an International Hockey League game Friday night.
The teams entered the third period tied, 1-1, but Long Beach’s Rod Aldoff scored at 5:24 to start a four-goal barrage.
Shane Kenny tallied at 7:52, and Doug Ast followed at 13:01. Jan Nemecek finished the scoring at 14:23 and secured the Ice Dogs’ seventh victory in eight games.
Dave Chyzowski scored for Kansas City at 11:17 of the second period.
