Parking Fees Will Jump at LAX, Van Nuys Flyaway

LOS ANGELES — Airport parking rates will increase this fall at both Los Angeles International Airport and the Van Nuys Flyaway facility.
Starting Oct. 2, fees will be increased at parking structures closest to LAX terminals, encouraging more travelers to use remote lots and free up spaces for drivers who currently circle terminal roadways or park at the curb.
Rates will increase to $1 per 30 minutes, from the current $3 for two hours. Rates at remote lots B and C will remain the same, where visitors can park free for two hours and use the shuttle service.
The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners also approved rate changes that will double the daily $1 fee at the Van Nuys Flyaway.
Parking fees had not been changed for LAX terminal garages since 1990, airport officials said, and the Flyaway increases are the first since 1984.
