New Airports

Thanks for the interview featuring the Federal Aviation Administration and Jane Garvey (Opinion, April 30). It’s good to know someone of that power in our government is aware that our overpopulated cities are not the places to build airports. The idea of larger airports being built away from communities, with transportation to them, is a step in the right direction for the FAA. It is a different world than it was 50 years ago.
I recommend a transportation hub in Orange County’s new Millennium Plan, with bus service to LAX and Ontario. Let’s keep the El Toro area a beautiful addition to Orange County and at the same time provide a new and innovative solution to future air-passenger demand. Destroying a large chunk of Orange County never did make much sense.
