It was a close championship chase, so close that when Bob Reed began to fade during the middle of Saturday night’s NASCAR mini stock race at Irwindale Speedway, it appeared that Terry Limberopoulos would overtake him for the title. But Reed, of Riverside, was able to regroup to finish fifth and win the track title before a crowd of 5,570.
Reed finished six points ahead of Limberopoulos, 406-400. Limberopoulos, of Bellflower, won the 30-lap event, taking the lead from Lee Ladd on lap 14.
