Council members will discuss changes to the city’s tree policies at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Community Meeting Center, 8200 Westminster Blvd.
City officials reviewed comments made during a town hall gathering, held by public works staff members last month, and received a petition signed by residents complaining about policies regarding trees on private property.
As a result, public works staff members plan to stop issuing violation notices to homeowners whose trees are causing damage to city sidewalks. Council members will discuss alternatives.
