Homestore.com Snaps Up Another Internet Property

Homestore.com Inc. in Thousand Oaks, which controls more than 90% of home-sale listings on the Internet, has acquired a company that helps businesses relocate their employees.
Terms for the acquisition of the Hessel Group were not disclosed. Homestore.com will integrate Hessel into a new company unit, Homestore Mobility Technologies Inc., the company said.
Hessel, located in Wilton, Conn., makes software used by companies and government agencies to coordinate relocating employees. Hessel’s name and management will remain intact, Homestore.com said. Hessel also has offices in Denver and the United Kingdom.
Homestore.com lists about 1.3 million homes for sale under an agreement with the National Assn. of Realtors. The company also offers information on home remodeling and moving.
