Irvine Sensors Corp., a Costa Mesa maker of high-density electronics, miniature cameras and other optical products, said Tuesday that its Advanced Technology division has received a federal research and development contract worth about $3.1 million.
The company said in a press release that the funds from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency will be incremental, based on technical achievements during the contract. The first material funding is expected soon.
The three-year contract is aimed at developing a high-resolution three-dimensional imaging system with time-delay features.
