The California Consortium of Education Foundations recently honored the Irvine Public Schools Foundation with one of five Apple Awards presented this year. The award was given in the category of Best Idea for the foundation’s musical instrument rental program, which raises money for fine arts programs at local schools from the renting of nearly 1,000 instruments a year to area students.
Foundation President Carolyn McInerney accepted the award last week at the consortium’s annual conference in Costa Mesa.
