Event to Showcase Food Processing Industry

Foodies looking to catch the flavor of the local food processing industry will want to stop by a Taste of FIBR next week.

The annual networking event, organized by the Food Industry Business Roundtable, will feature tastings of specialty foods cooked up by more than 30 local companies. In addition, FIBR will honor Prosy De La Cruz, regional administrator with the California Department of Health Services, who helped the organization create a food safety training program for the local industry.

The free event is open to all food industry professionals. It will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Southern California Edison, 2244 Walnut Grove Ave., Rosemead. To register, call Norma Alvarado, (213) 763-2520, Ext. 226.
