$10,000 Reward Offered in Slaying of Couple

LOS ANGELES — The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday posted a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for the shooting deaths of an elderly Rancho Palos Verdes couple.
The bodies of George Chapin, 87, and his wife Pauline, 77, were discovered Oct. 3 in separate bedrooms of their home in the 28000 block of East Palos Verdes Drive. They were discovered by caretakers.
The man had been shot multiple times. The woman appeared to have been shot once.
There were no signs of forced entry at the home where the couple had lived for nearly 50 years.
