With a nod to the 250th anniversary of Bach’s death, tenor Jonathan Mack will sing the composer’s Cantata No. 189 (“Meine Seele ruhmt and preist”) with a small ensemble that includes harpsichordist Lucinda Carver. The concert, sponsored by the Fullerton Friends of Music, also will feature Bach’s “Musical Offering” and “Frohe Hirten” from the “Christmas Oratorio.”

The Pacific Chorale will open its 33rd season with works by Bach and Handel. John Alexander will conduct the 30-voice John Alexander Singers in Bach’s Magnificat and Missa Brevis in G minor, and Handel’s “Laudate pueri.” Soprano Camille King will be the soloist. Musica Angelica, a period instrument ensemble, will provide accompaniment. The program is part of the Eclectic Orange Festival sponsored by the Philharmonic Society.
