Study of L.A-Pasadena Rail Extension OKd

SOUTH PASADENA — Directors of the agency created to finish building a light rail project from downtown Los Angeles to Pasadena have approved the initial stage of a $1-million study to examine extending the line 20 miles east to Claremont.
The study approved Wednesday night by the Los Angeles-Pasadena Metro Blue Line Construction Authority will be paid for by the Southern California Assn. of Governments. It comes at the request of San Gabriel Valley officials.
The extension would run along a railroad right of way from Sierra Madre Villa Boulevard in Pasadena through Arcadia, Irwindale, Azusa, Glendora, San Dimas and LaVerne to Claremont.
