Metrolink Train Kills Man; Service Interrupted in Area

PICO RIVERA — An unidentified man died Friday evening when he was struck by an eastbound MetroLink train in Pico Rivera.
The accident, which occurred at 7:05 p.m. just north of Lexington Avenue, shut down train traffic in the area for at least 90 minutes, said Sgt. David Haney, evening watch commander at the Pico Rivera sheriff’s station. Homicide detectives were investigating, Haney said, adding that he had no further details on the victim.
