Diana Slate; Retired Electronics Technician

Ventura County native Diana Lee Slate died Friday at her Camarillo home following a lengthy illness. She was 51.
Slate was born in Ventura on May 4, 1949. She had recently retired after a 30-year career as an electronics technician at the Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu.
Slate was a member of the Swingers Golf Club of Ventura and a bowling league.
Slate is survived by her husband, Carl Slate of Camarillo; a son, Aaron George of Ventura, and her mother, Lorene Berkshire of Ventura.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Berkshire.
A visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura, which is handling the arrangements. A private interment will be held at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
