A Bosnian Serb indicted by a U.N. war crimes tribunal for involvement in the 1995 massacre of thousands of Muslims at Srebrenica was arrested by NATO-led peacekeepers.
Dragan Obrenovic, who commanded a Bosnian Serb army brigade, was indicted April 9, but the indictment was sealed to avoid alerting him to his possible arrest.
Florence Hartman, a tribunal spokeswoman, said Obrenovic was arrested in Bosnia’s Serb republic. He was flown to The Hague, where the tribunal is located, Sunday night.
