Ziarnick Leads Fullerton Victory

Fullerton outfielder Brian Ziarnick had four hits Tuesday, leading the Hornets to a 9-6 upset of Santa Ana in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game at Fullerton.
Ziarnick extended his hitting streak to 21 games. Fullerton improved to 17-21, 8-12. Santa Ana is 30-7, 17-3.
In another conference game:
Saddleback 11, Cypress 10--Joe Schaefer’s seventh-inning double drove in Chris Mash with the game-winning run for Saddleback (29-9, 13-7).
In the Southern California men’s volleyball playoffs:
Santa Barbara 3, Irvine Valley 0--Dusty Russell had 11 kills and Justin Sudduth had nine for host Irvine Valley (10-7), which lost, 25-22, 25-20, 25-16.
