Loyola Marymount 91, Portland 87--Robert Davis scored 17 points and Greg Lakey and Elton Mashack each scored 15 as the Lions (8-17, 4-8) held off the Pilots at Portland, Ore., in a West Coast Conference game. Tim Frost and Travis Andrews each scored 21 points for Portland (10-15, 3-9).

UC Santa Barbara 59, UC Riverside 48--Nick Jones scored 14 points to help the Gauchos (11-12) get past the Highlanders in a nonconference game at Santa Barbara. UC Riverside (7-14), which led much of the game, fell behind after a pair of free throws by Jones put the Gauchos ahead 41-40 with 8:08 left.
