Re “Man Pulled Shotgun on 3 Children Who Taunted Him, Police Say,” Jan. 26.
A 90-year-old gentleman from Ventura was taken into custody for “mental evaluation.” His crime was trying to protect himself and his property from the continual harassment of local teenagers. He can be held against his wishes for up to 72 hours as he is considered a danger to himself and others.
I strongly feel that the teenagers should be taken into custody and held for 72 hours for mental evaluation, as they are danger to themselves and others.

My heart goes out to Louis Anderson, 90, who was harassed for weeks by “children,” age 13. “Monsters” is a better description.
Where are the parents of these creepy kids? What are the elderly supposed to do to protect themselves from this kind of nastiness?
Pardon me for sounding like an old [grouch] but my mother and father would have grounded me for a month and made me do something nice for Anderson every day if I’d been one of those 13-year-olds.
