Police were investigating the deaths of two Dartmouth College professors, a dean at the school said.
Hanover police have refused to release information on the investigation, but Edward Berger, dean of faculty for arts and sciences, identified the victims as Susanne and Half Zantop.
“Apparently, the police were called to the home sometime around 6:30 p.m.,” Berger said. “They and the guests [that the Zantops] were expecting found the bodies.”
Several police officers and sheriff’s deputies surrounded the Zantop home, which sits in a wooded area.
Berger said the couple had been at the college for at least 25 years.
