CAO Asks Supervisors to Change Title to CEO

From Times staff reports
Chief Administrative Officer Johnny Johnston is asking the Board of Supervisors to approve a name change for his office.
Johnston would like his title to become chief executive officer, a move he said will give the office more credibility because it is the same job title that executives in private industry hold. The new title, however, is largely a cosmetic change, because it would not alter the powers of Johnston’s position.
Supervisors will consider Johnston’s request at Tuesday’s board meeting.
