Cyclist Hit by Car Is in Critical Condition

A bicyclist was critically injured Friday night by a car in Costa Mesa, according to police.
The man was injured when a 34-year-old driver struck him broadside on Newport Boulevard.
The victim was taken to Western Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition late Saturday.
The crash still was under investigation Saturday, and police said the driver was not ticketed.
