Holiday Closings

Thursday is Thanksgiving. The following schedule will be observed:
* City, county and state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
* Federal offices will be closed Thursday but open Friday.
* County, state and federal courthouses will be closed Thursday and Friday; the U.S. District Court clerk’s office will be open Friday for emergency telephone appeals only.
* County and city libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday except in Newport Beach, where the central library and branches will be open Friday.
* Banks and savings and loans will be closed Thursday but open Friday.
* Public schools, community colleges, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Chapman University will be closed Thursday and Friday.
* Mail will not be delivered Thursday, and post offices will be closed. Mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.
* Trash will not be picked up Thursday; collections will be one day late the rest of the week.
* Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a holiday schedule Thursday but will return to normal Friday.
* Metrolink trains will not run Thursday but will return to normal schedules Friday.
