The outpouring of humanitarian and financial aid to victims of the heinous attacks in New York and Washington is extremely heartwarming and deserved. However, I believe some should be shared or at least not be given at the expense of everyday giving to charities that minister to the needs of our homeless, hungry citizens, veterans, medical research, etc. These humanitarian organizations are already suffering decreased inflows due to our weakening economy and unemployment.
