Investigators said Friday that an arsonist caused the fire that gutted a Pakistani restaurant, causing $150,000 in damage.
The blaze, which started about 2 a.m. Thursday, charred the front of the Islamic Halal Tandoori restaurant on Ball Road.
“They have found no accidental cause,” said Maria Sabol, spokeswoman for the Anaheim Fire Department.
She said officials ruled out the possibility that the blaze was a hate crime, though she would not elaborate, citing the ongoing investigation.
The owner, Akbar Ali, 54, has said he feared it might have been retaliation against him because of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
