Troubled by St. Croix ‘hatchet job’
I am a 30-year resident of St. Croix, and I was shocked at the hatchet job that writer Susan Spano attempted to perform on this serene piece of paradise (“Island Crime Problems Point to Trouble in Paradise,” Her World, Oct. 20).
Yes, more than 30 years ago eight people were killed at the Fountain Valley golf course. Many more people were killed in Los Angeles during that period.
To say there is no crime in St. Croix would be flying in the face of reality, but I can safely say that tourists are treated with respect and appreciation.
