Running for Office --and for Dollars

Re “Dreary, Dollar-Driven Race,” July 21:
As a reader since the early ‘50s, I have not always agreed with The Times’ positions, but I heartily endorse today’s lead editorial, “Dreary, Dollar-Driven Race.” Voters would be better served if Gov. Gray Davis would spend less time dialing for campaign dollars and posing for shameless photo-ops and devote more of his taxpayer-funded hours to the state’s energy policy, stalled budget negotiations and quality of life.
