A 13-year-old boy remained in critical condition Friday after being struck the night before by a Metrolink train while crossing the tracks in Van Nuys.
Robert Villasenor of Panorama City was on his way to a store just after 7 p.m. Thursday when he passed by a train yard switching station in the 8000 block of Haskell Avenue, police said.
The conductor of a train traveling about 70 mph on its way to Moorpark said he didn’t see the boy in time to avoid hitting him, police said.
