Museum Projects to Get Prop. 40 Funds

Seven museum and historic preservation projects in the state will share $4 million from Proposition 40, approved by voters in March, Davis administration officials said Thursday.
Recipients are the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, $500,000; the African American Museum in Oakland, $1 million; the Starr Theater and Boarding House in Locke, $500,000; the Mexican Heritage Plaza in San Jose, $1 million; and $1 million toward “Japantown” restorations in San Jose, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
