A man, his parents and a friend have been arrested in the shooting death of the man’s girlfriend, whose body was found March 22 in an abandoned car, Long Beach police said Thursday.
Officers said Santiago Manuel Martinez, 21, is suspected of killing Christina Grace Wilkerson, 28, last month in an apparent fit of jealousy. His parents, Santiago Martinez Herrera, 49, and Sanjuana Alonzo, 39, are suspected of helping him dump the body, investigators said.
The friend, Jose Guadalupe Ramirez, 33, is suspected of being present when Wilkerson was slain, detectives said.
The four suspects were arrested Tuesday. Their arraignment is scheduled for today.
Long Beach Police Officer Jana Blair, a department spokeswoman, said Wilkerson was last seen alive, with Martinez, on March 17. A few days later, when her family could not contact her, they reported her missing.
Officers found her body in a car on Werner Street. She had been stabbed, but the cause of death was a gunshot wound.
