Declawing Cats

On behalf of all felines, both big and small, please accept my gratitude to Jennifer Conrad and Paw Project for the wonderful work they do to ease the suffering of cats that have been mutilated by the barbaric declawing procedure (“ ‘Paw Project’ Eases Declawed Big Cats’ Pain,” April 5). I also thank The Times for this article, which may be educational to so many people who really believe they love their companion cats, yet their perception of declawing seems to be nothing more serious than a pedicure to protect their precious furniture.
