Sheriff’s Office May File Charges in Teens’ Deaths

The Monterey County Sheriff’s office has not ruled out charges in the deaths five weeks ago of two students who fell into a riverbed during a camping trip.
Those charges would target two men who allegedly gave a group of camping teens alcohol.
“There still is a missing piece of the puzzle here,” said sheriff’s spokesman Bill Cassara. “And we are hoping to continue to get cooperation from people associated with the school.”
Students Mikhail Nikolov and Vladislav Bogomolny, both 17, died March 5 when they fell into a riverbed in Arroyo Seco, about 15 miles southwest of Greenfield.
