Lynch Expected to Return to U.S. Today

Pfc. Jessica Lynch, the prisoner of war rescued by U.S. troops in Iraq, has made steady progress and is to return to the United States today from the U.S. military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany, officials said.
Lynch, 19, of Palestine, W.Va., is to go to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. She was captured March 23 after her 507th Ordnance Maintenance Company convoy was attacked near Nasiriyah. She is being treated for a head wound, a spinal injury and fractures to her right arm, both legs, and her right foot and ankle.
