Russia Not Censured Over Chechnya Actions

For the second year running, Russia escaped censure by the Geneva-based U.N. Human Rights Commission for alleged violations in Chechnya.
The commission rejected a resolution by European countries that urged Moscow to tackle abuses including forced disappearances, summary executions and torture.
The motion also condemned hostage-taking and attacks by Chechen separatists, including October’s seizure of a Moscow theater.
