Reliant Expects Result of Probe by February

Reliant Resources Inc. said federal prosecutors in Northern California would decide in the next two months what action to take about allegations that the company had manipulated electricity prices in the state.
The Houston-based company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that several employees had spoken to prosecutors or testified before a San Francisco grand jury investigating California’s power crisis of 2000-01.
Reliant owns several power plants in the state.
